Dr. Zinnes is a psychiatrist affiliated Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital. She has expertise in different areas of adult psychiatry, including geriatric psychiatry, women focused psychiatry and substance abuse (suboxone certification). She also has expertise in psychotherapy (Fellowship at Baltimore Washington Institute of Psychoanalysis), ECT (Duke University Fellowship) and TMS (Vital TMS Therapy)
Dr. Zinnes earned her degrees from Spitalul Clinic de Urgenta and Duke University School of Medicine. She completed two residencies in internal medicine at Grivita Clinical Hospital, as well as a residency in hematology at Coltea Clinical Hospital and a residency in gastroenterology at Fundeni Clinical Hospital. Dr. Zinnes also completed a residency in psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington DC, followed by a fellowship in psychiatry at Baltimore Washington Institute.
She has been in private practice as a psychiatrist for over 20 years with the firm belief that the integration of mental health care with general medicine is essential for best outcomes in treating all types of conditions. She is committed to providing her patients with the best of care and to also advocate for their social integration and destigmatization of mental illness.
Dr. Zinnes is a member of the American Psychiatric Association; a Board Certified Psychiatrist and an APA Fellow. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has a private practice in Chevy Chase, Md.
